Short answer
A website grader is a free tool that checks a website and gives it a score, with a list of what to fix. Convertica's website grader loads your page on a phone and a desktop, runs eight checks, from first impressions and mobile use to speed, SEO fundamentals and AI agent readiness, scores each out of 100 and gives you every finding.
- Enter your website and watch the eight checks run live on the real page.
- Each check is scored out of 100, and the overall website score is their plain average.
- The free report has every finding, with how to fix each one.
- It grades how well the page is built to convert, not just speed and SEO.
- It reads the page, not your visitors, so it predicts no conversion rate.
How the website grader works
The website grader loads your page in a real browser, measures what is on it and scores 8 checks out of 100 while you watch. There is nothing to install and no script to add to your site.
- Enter your website. Your homepage is a good start; any public page works.
- Watch it load your page. The grader opens the page at phone size (375 pixels wide) and desktop size (1280 pixels wide) and shows the screenshots it took.
- See each check tick as it finishes. Every check shows one thing it measured, such as how many buttons are on the first mobile screen.
- Get your website score and every finding. The report opens on screen and is emailed to you, so you can come back to it.
The free report has your overall score, all eight check scores and every finding in full, with how to fix each one.

What does a website grader check?
Most website graders check speed, mobile use, SEO and security, because those are easy to measure. Convertica's website grader checks those basics too, but most of its eight checks are about whether a visitor can understand the offer, find the next step and trust you enough to take it, plus whether AI crawlers and agents can read the page.
| Check | What it asks |
|---|---|
| First impressions | Can a visitor tell what you offer and what to do next without scrolling? |
| Calls to action | Is the main action obvious, and is its wording specific? |
| Forms and friction | What stands between intent and completion? |
| Trust and credibility | Is there proof near the decision: reviews, guarantees, policies, contact details? |
| Mobile experience | Does the page work on a phone: no sideways scrolling, readable text, tappable buttons? |
| Page performance | How fast does the page load, according to Google PageSpeed Insights on mobile? |
| AI visibility and agent readiness | Do robots.txt, structured data and the HTML before JavaScript let AI agents read what you sell? |
| SEO fundamentals | Title, meta description, one H1, heading order, canonical, noindex, alt text and sitemap |
The grader runs the same eight checks as Convertica's free CRO audit. To grade one landing page that an ad or email sends people to, use the landing page analyzer.
How is the website score calculated?
The website score is the plain average of the eight check scores, each out of 100. Most checks are 50% measured facts from the page and 50% an AI review of the screenshots and text; page performance comes from Google PageSpeed Insights only. A score of 80 or more is labeled good, 50 to 79 needs work and below 50 a problem.
Every check weighs the same, and a check that does not apply, such as forms on a page with no form, is left out. The weights and pass marks are Convertica's own choices, not benchmarks, and the score predicts no conversion rate or lift. A high score means fewer known gaps, not a page that is proven to convert.
What to do with your website grade
Use your website grade to decide where to start. Fix the plain errors in your lowest-scoring check first, such as a form that fails on a phone or a price missing from the HTML, then test the bigger changes, such as a new headline, against the current page. Grade the page again after each round.
- Grade more than the homepage. Run the page closest to a sale next: a product, pricing or contact page.
- Check what the grader cannot see. It reads the page, not your visitors. Your analytics and session recordings show where real people leave.
- Go wider when you need to. The website audit guide covers tracking, content and the rest of the site in eight steps, with a checklist.
- Want it in plain words? Roast my website runs the same checks as a blunt review.
If you want the fixes built, Convertica's team builds every fix the audit found: the one page rebuild covers one page and the full site rebuild covers your whole site. Both are on the pricing page.
Website grader FAQ
What is a website grader?
A website grader is a tool that checks a website against a set of rules and turns the result into a score or grade, with a list of problems to fix. Most graders focus on speed, mobile use and SEO. Convertica's also grades what decides whether visitors convert: the first screen, calls to action, forms and trust, plus AI agent readiness.
Is this website grader free?
Yes. The website grader is free: you get the overall score, all eight check scores and every finding, with how to fix each one. It asks for your email when the report is ready, because the report is sent to you, with a few follow-ups you can unsubscribe from. There is no card and no call.
How is the website score calculated?
Each of the eight checks is scored out of 100. Most checks blend measured facts from the page with an AI review of the screenshots and text; page performance comes from Google PageSpeed Insights only. The overall website score is the plain average of the checks that could be scored, and every check weighs the same.
What is a good website grader score?
The grader labels 80 or more good, 50 to 79 needs work and below 50 a problem. Those marks are Convertica's own, not an industry benchmark, and the score does not predict your conversion rate. Use it to find your weakest check and to compare the same page before and after a change.
Does the website grader check my whole site?
No. Each run grades one page: the address you enter. Start with your homepage or the page most of your visitors land on, then run your product, pricing or contact page. The AI visibility check also reads site files such as robots.txt and llms.txt, and the SEO check looks for a sitemap.
How is this different from HubSpot's Website Grader?
HubSpot's Website Grader focuses on performance, SEO, mobile and security. Convertica's website grader also checks those basics, but most of its eight checks are about conversion: whether the offer is clear on the first screen, whether calls to action and forms work, whether there is proof near the decision, and whether AI agents can read the page.
Can I grade a competitor's website?
Yes. The website grader works on any public page, so you can grade a competitor the same way as your own and compare the eight scores. It only reads what a new visitor could see without logging in, identifies itself to the site and does not try to get past bot checks.
